InQuinox Upgrades Appliances with Latest Technology

Don’t assume that smaller companies cannot compete with the “Big Boys”.  Being smaller enables companies like InQuinox to provide extreme nimbleness and flexibility to incorporate new technologies “on a dime” (quicker than anyone else).  Such is the case with InQuinox’s SD3 appliances which are purpose-built engines to optimally run Symantec’s NetBackup Deduplication software, and the SX3 appliances which optimize the running of InQuinox’s SanXfer server and data migration product.

Our latest enhancements include CPU upgrades, additional memory and new storage components which enable our appliances to incorporate the latest technology to keep your operations ahead of your competition.

With the latest storage upgrade, the SD3 is now capable of delivering up to 4TBpm (TeraBytes per minute!) performance to further extend our leadership position among all NetBackup Deduplication appliances.  Our next closest competitor can do no better than .5TBpm, which translates to an 8:1 performance advantage for the SD3.

With Symantec’s own appliances at a similar price point, why would you not what to take advantage of the longevity, performance and reliability of the SD3 over the N5220 and N5200 offerings from Symantec?

Even more so, with the N5220 and N5200 Symantec appliances limited in size to either 32TB or 64TB, why limit your growth potential, since the SD3 can scale to the current maximum of 192TB within a single frame?  With the SD3, your footprint, power, cooling and maintenance costs are dramatically less for each similarly sized configuration.

InQuinox possesses the expertise which comes from individuals who have been working with NetBackup since it was release 1.3, back in 1994 (when it was just a baby).

Between InQuinox’s heritage with NetBackup and our Professional Services team, it should become obvious that InQuinox is the team to beat.  We encourage you to keep an open mind and do your own homework on which solution to place your bet.  If you just need an independent view on how to improve your current NetBackup infrastructure, please call upon our Professional Services team to provide you with the expertise needed to fully optimize your NetBackup environment.

We encourage you to contact us to explore the means by which InQuinox can meet and exceed your needs.

Symantec no longer invested in Chinese Joint Venture (JV) with Huawei

On November 14, 2011, Symantec announced its decision to sell its shares in the Huawei Symantec joint venture (JV) with Huawei.  Coincidentally, this announcement that the JV was officially unjoined came only 3 months after Mark Bregman left Symantec.  It was Mark’s leadership which enjoined these two companies, and to his credit, the venture paid Symantec a handsome profit having turned their $150MM investment into $530MM.  Without his leadership, the future of the Huawei appliances becomes more risky and filled with uncertainty.
